The MP® Reconstruction Prosthesis facilitates modular replacement of the proximal femur by virtue of the modular proximal components. Proximal femoral bone deficits of between 40 and 130 mm can be compensated for by combining base components with UHMWPE extensions and terminals. The terminals, which are made of titanium alloy, are designed to be seated on the proximal resection plane of the femur. To achieve stable fixation, the stem below the terminal should be at least 180 mm in length. Of course, the longer the implant, the greater the diameter of the stem should be.
